Luis Mario Casanova Sorolla was born in Lima, Peru in 1984. He started training at the age of 8 in an institute of art run by Teresa Mestres, a Spanish artist that lived in Peru. She was who invited him to join a group of adults skipping the period of crayons and colour pencils. Surrounded by adults who had tea and listened to classical music, he learnt all the tecniques, from charcoal drawing to oil painting, although the watercolour was his favourite one. At the age of 15, he travelled to Viena, where he finished his secondary school. At 17, he entered the University of Visual Arts – Akademie der Bildende Kuenste. He went on his artistic evolution studying, painting and managing his own artistic career. He illustrated 10 volumes of school books in a Project for the German speaking countries, "Geschichten Erforschen", of the National Publishing House of Austria. He decorated the interior of shops and houses using paintbrush to create murals.
At the end of 2006, he started his first artistic tour. He travelled around five countries in South America ( including Argentina) to paint landscapes following the impressionism style, in search of contact with his continent as well as a new palette of colours to provide his paintings with light. He returned to Europe in 2007, where he exhibited fifteen pictures of his impressionist Project in the Art Gallery "Artist Space" in the "Le Meridien Wien Hotel." He also produced "Ein maler on the stage; on that occasion, he painted live surrounded by artists." At the beginning of 2008, he travelled to Argentina. There he has started working on a project to study the technique of wine on paper thoroughly. Not only does he want to paint and spread the qualities the wine has to paint, but he also wants this element to be produced to be used in works of art. Back to Vienna he continues his work in this city with its log tradition of living with wine.
