Pirelli Calendar 2011 - Behind the Scene 3.12.2010

KARL LAGERFELD'S Greek and Roman Mythology-themed Pirelli calendar may be making waves for including a naked man for the first time, but the designer insists it's the goddesses who matter.

"It's my favourite religion: a god for everything," Lagerfeld revealed. "I am a polytheist. I prefer mythology without hell, without sin - an obstacle to happiness, without forgiveness. I love goddesses because they were the first liberated women, who were entitled to everything. The goddesses and the muses are feminists!"

The world's biggest models - including Freja Beha Erichsen, Isabeli Fontana, Elisa Sednaoui, Magdalena Frackowiak, Anja Rubik, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Lara Stone, Daria Werbowy, Heidi Mount, Erin Wasson, Iris Strubegger, Jeneil Williams and Natasha Poly - joined male models Baptiste Giabiconi, Sébastien Jondeau, Brad Kroenig, Garrett Neff and Jake Davis, and actress and Vogue cover girl Julianne Moore for the shoot, which took place at Lagerfeld's studio in Paris.
